Google Stitch
FreeFormerly known as Galileo AI
Google Stitch is Google's free AI design tool that turns text prompts and images into mobile and web UI you can export to Figma or code
About
Google Stitch is Google's AI-powered interface design tool: describe an app in words, attach a screenshot or sketch, and it generates editable mobile app screens or responsive web pages. It was launched as a Google Labs experiment at I/O 2025 and is available as a Google Labs tool, free of charge. It is driven by Google DeepMind's Gemini models and aimed at application builders — developers, product managers, designers, and founders with no design background. Finished screens can be exported to Figma as editable layers, copied as HTML, turned into a React app, or connected into a shareable click-through prototype. A personal Google Account is required, and the site is English-only and limited to users aged 18 and over.
✨ Key Features
- Prompt and image to UI — Describe the app you want, or attach a screenshot, sketch or visual inspiration, and Stitch generates screen designs; uploaded images may be JPG or PNG up to 5 MB.
- Mobile and desktop variants — Generate a native mobile app version or a responsive web version of a design, and convert existing screens between mobile and desktop at any time.
- Figma export as editable layers — Send selected screens into Figma as editable layers through code.to.design; this works in Standard Mode only, and not for imported projects, image-upload screens, or other modes.
- Export to code and build tools — Copy static HTML that matches the design, generate a fully interactive React app from selected screens, or hand a design off to Google AI Studio, Bolt, Lovable or Netlify from the same export panel.
- Instant Prototypes — Connect multiple screens into an interactive click-through prototype with inferred navigation hotspots and transitions, then share it as a link.
- Design systems and DESIGN.md — Stitch auto-selects a design system from your prompt, or you can import one from a .fig file, a website URL, uploaded code/images/fonts/logos, or a DESIGN.md document up to 10 MB.
- On-canvas studio tools — Generate variants, fill in missing states, animate a screen, or run an accessibility audit that produces a WCAG compliance report with contrast ratios and alt-text suggestions.
- Model and mode choice — Pick the model per task: a faster mode for quick HTML drafts, a higher-quality one for complex screens, and separate image-model options for redesign work.
- MCP for IDEs and CLIs — Connect Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Antigravity or OpenCode to Stitch through the Model Context Protocol using a Stitch API key.
- Galileo AI history import — Former Galileo AI users can upload their past conversation history from Stitch's settings page to view it; imported conversations cannot be continued inside Stitch.
💳 Pricing
- Free of charge — Google's Stitch landing page states both "Available now" and "Free of charge", and no paid plan or pricing page is published on the site.
- Account requirement — A personal Google Account is required; access is limited to users aged 18 and over in select countries and territories.
- Daily generation credits — Free use is metered rather than unlimited: the app tracks a daily allocation of generated screens and warns when you reach "your daily limit of … generated screens", which resets the next day.
- Redesign quota — The screenshot/URL Redesign flow has its own daily quota that the product describes as a temporary limit during the launch period.
- Practical caps — Up to 50 uploaded images per project, exports limited to 16 screens per export (Netlify deploy is single-screen only), and a limit on concurrent generations.
- Verify the numbers — Google does not publish exact credit figures, quota numbers or a paid-tier roadmap publicly, so check the in-app Daily Credits panel under Settings and the official FAQ before relying on a specific limit.
⚖️ Alternatives Compared
| Product | Best for | Public pricing | Key difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Stitch | Prompt- or image-to-UI generation for mobile and web, with Figma and code handoff | Free of charge; no paid plan published | Exports to Figma as editable layers and to HTML/React, and runs on Google's Gemini models with an MCP server for coding agents |
| Uizard | Non-designers turning sketches, screenshots and text into app mockups | See official pricing | A template-driven mockup editor rather than an agent that emits HTML, a React app and editable Figma layers |
| Visily | Teams wireframing and mocking up UI together | See official pricing | Built around collaborative wireframing and ready-made templates instead of multimodal prompt-to-code generation |
| Figma AI | Designers and teams already working inside Figma | See official pricing | AI assistance inside an existing Figma file, where Stitch generates a standalone project you export out of |
🎯 Use Cases
- Founder validating an idea: Turn a paragraph describing your product into a set of mobile app screens you can put in front of testers the same afternoon.
- Designer handling Figma handoff: Generate first-draft web layouts in Stitch, export them to Figma as editable layers, and refine them in your existing design file.
- Frontend developer starting a build: Generate a flow's screens, then export HTML or a React app to use as the starting point instead of writing markup by hand.
- Product manager presenting a flow: Connect screens into an Instant Prototype and share a link so stakeholders can click through the navigation before any code exists.
- Team enforcing a design system: Write a DESIGN.md or import a .fig file or brand website so every generated screen reuses the same colors, type and corner radii.
- Accessibility-conscious team: Run the built-in accessibility audit for a WCAG contrast report and alt-text suggestions before the design review.
- Agent-assisted workflow: Connect Stitch to Claude Code, Cursor or Gemini CLI over MCP so your coding agent can pull designs and code without leaving the terminal.
